Welcome. My name is Ella Wagner, and I’m a PhD student in American History and Public History at Loyola University Chicago. This blog serves as a record of learning and a forum for class discussion for a Spring 2016 course at Loyola, 479: Public History Media. The class, and this site, will explore the many ways that digital technologies can be used to enhance the practice of public history–from archival digitization projects, to online exhibitions, to museum visitor engagement through social media. I look forward to debating both the possibilities and the challenges of these new technologies. I’m also excited to add several new technical skills to the set I wield as a public history professional-in-training. I welcome your comments and feedback on posts here; for more from me, you can follow me on Twitter @ellafwagner.
